2013 Accord runs cold

I bought a 2013 Honda Accord and immediately hooked up my UltraGuage. I was surprised to find the car only gets up to 174*F. And it takes a long time to get there. Do direct injected cars normally run at this temp? I thought all cars today run at 210*F. Doesn't a warmer engine ran more efficiently?

You might want to talk to the dealer about the issue. Different engines run at different temperatures. 174 does seem quite low though.

I asked the same question on an Accord forum and found out it's normal for it to run at 175*F. And a long warm up isn't unusual either. I thought these direct injected engines would have warmed up quickly and ran on the warmer side. Guess not all of them. If I could improve the morning warm ups, my mpgs would be so much better.

My 2013-EX-2.4L-sedan runs a max of 183 and a norm of 177.
