variable speed centrifuge plans............

This is just in the planning stage, drawing is crude and not demensionally correct but here it is:

I looked at the grinder motor I have and it still works, rpm is, guessing, about 1000 on the lowest setting before it starts pulsing. I have some pulleys but not sure diameter or shaft size. I want to make the table from 2" drilled square tubing, will be welded on the corners and will be easy to bolt the other parts to. I have a source for used atf, free, and want to clean it for the 93 truck and Rabbit. I spend close to 6000.00 a year now on fuel and want to take a bite out of it. I can get a rotor, new, from RPC, for 250.00 and think I will be able to get the other parts for free because I have most of it already. Might cost 350.00 when all said and done.
---rotor-12"--------
Motor RPM- 3400,
Drive pulley diameter(dpd)- 6,
Driven- 3
RPM- 6800 (7880g)
---------------
dpd- 5
rpm-5664 (5470g)
---------------
dpd- 4.5
rpm- 5100 (4430g)
---------------
dpd- 4
rpm- 4532 (3500g)
---------------
I'm open to ideas, comments, suggestions............

sorry, being quite ignorant so I have to ask

you are trying to make your own fuel from used transmission oil :D?

update

picked up 115 gallons a few weeks ago. storing it in 15 gallon barrels. pump into 55 gallon, 25 gallon WVO, 25 gallon diesel, then add*rest of mix. end up with a little over 52 gallons. from there, it's pumped through a 10 micron filter into another 55 gallon barrel that's strapped to a cart i built. when i need to pump, i roll it to the truck and fill er up. takes about an hour to run 50 gallons and it will usually last a week and a half. i use pneumatic pumps so there is hardly no hand pouring at all.

atf burns VERY well in the older diesel trucks.

what kind of truck do you have?

have a 93 3500 and a 96 2500 6.5L diesel. 93 is mechanical IP and the 96 is electronic. the 96 is less tolerant and i run it 50/50 but the 93 i run 100%.

we ran used motor oil in lots of diesels, as well as ATF. The only real problems we had were with the electronic chevy 6.5's. Someone told me they have optical sensors in the injector pumps which must "see" through the fuel for timing.
With motor oil it can't see through because it is too black.

We cut atf with 8 to 10 percent gasoline and it runs just like diesel. Used motor oil filtered to 3 microns we'd cut with up to 15 percent gasoline.

When it gets really cold, and you are using the dodges, they don't like to start on pure oil - you have to run 1/3 diesel.

The ford 7.3's burn anything.
