1994 Toyota Corolla

After starting at CleanMPG and then clicking the links some of us have in forums sigs, I was introduced to ecomodder. What a day to remember.
Anyways, I've done even more stuff since I started this thread, and more stuff since I last updated it; and I'm sure it won't be the last.

Current list of mods:
Rear wheel skirts
Lower grill block
PS mirror delete
DS mirror delete(lastest addition as of this update)
Interior blind spot mirrors, both sides(see above)
Front tire spats
Partial undertrays in front and back
Smooth wheel covers in front
One smooth rear wheel, other doesn't have a hubcap.

Comments are free so dish em out!

Covered the tire spats so there is no air getting in the "enclosed" part.

I actually like the roughness of the text for cleanmpg and ecomodder done with tape and spray paint (presumably).
I'm doubtful of the rear tire spats, but time will tell. I think they should be closer to the tire and sturdier (think what will happen when it snows - you get that big iceberg there)

Most egg-salad! I like the shape of the front wheel spats. The driver's side is the kind of curve I have always imagined, in tension with the vertical rear brace. I'm not sure why you showed a picture of the coolant(?) guage. What does it signify?

Added by accident.
But when I had my partial upper grill block, the cooling fan would turn on when the needle hit just over halfway. I mean 51/100 kind of halfway. Now that I took off the upper grill block i haven't had the problem but I need to test it more. Florida is not cold enough, even in winter, to for my old setup to be safe.

So that gauge there....that's coolant temp? i thought it was engine temp. Or is it basically the same thing, or same way to measure engine temp?

I like that last picture of the car under the teardrop arch. What have you got planned?

Coolant temp is often used as a proxy for engine temp, and is what most people refer to when they talk about "engine temp". The problem is that there is no one "engine temp"; different parts of it run at different temperatures. That's not too much of a concern for a modern car, as the coolant circulates pretty well and tends to keep most of the important bits right around their "proper" temperatures.

However, it may take your oil twice as long to get to "normal operating temperature" as it does your coolant. And the cylinder head(s) get significantly hotter in places than your coolant and oil ever will. And the exhaust? Waaaaaaay hotter. But those usually aren't that important to us.

So, uhh, yeah. "It's pretty much the same as far as you mean."

Cool, thanks for the info.
Also, my GuessGaugeIII says that I'm at about 42mpg with a little over half a tank left.
