Voltswagen of America, a new unit of Volkswagen Group

Volkswagen inadvertently posted a press release on its website a month early on Monday announcing a new name for its U.S. operations, 'VOLTSWAGEN OF AMERICA.' Company spokespersons confirmed the authenticity but have declined to comment on the release, supposed to launch on April 29 date. Expected to take effect in May 2021, it was to bring the brand future-forward totally into E-mobility. They will preserve the iconic and historic 'VW' emblem only but will use light blue color and light blue lighting to differentiate its EV-centric brand vehicles. 'Voltswagen of America' will be an operating unit within the Volkswagen Group of America and subsidiary of Volkswagen AG. Just in time, GM just discontinued the plug-in hybrid Chevy Volt in 2019 and its all-electric Chevy Bolt EV sales down when the tax credit phase completely ended.

But as a station wagon.

Watt are they thinking?

Sounds either like a joke or a statement of them not willing to make anything affordable anymore. The volks might get shocked while looking at the price tags now...

No surprise here.

The journalist b*tt-hurt is hi-larious.

With just a little common-sense, they could easily spot it as an April Fools Day instead of whining.

To be fair, they called VW, who doubled down. And it was March 30th.

Sure, but anyway, it already sounded too strange to be true.

Pranking journalists is trivial. :)

Volkswagen has been outdone:

www.bbc.com: Deliveroo April Fools' joke backfires in France

Quote:

French Deliveroo customers who received fake bills for hundreds of euros' worth of pizza have failed to see the funny side of the April Fools' joke.

On 1 April thousands of customers of the delivery platform across France got confirmation emails for orders totalling over €450 (£380; $530).

Many took to social media to express anger at the stunt.

Late on Thursday Deliveroo informed its customers via Twitter and email that it had not been serious.

"We confirm that it was an April Fool's joke," the clarification read. "You can enjoy the evening by ordering the pizza of your choice."

But few customers were amused. One of them said he had "almost had a stroke" after receiving a €466 invoice for 38 pizzas that he had never ordered.
Sales pitch says "Sorry, not sorry".

McDonald's sells a green shake the whole month of St Patrick's day. April fools day jokes should be given at least a week to play out.

That's a good point. Well, even though Volkswagen gave it a few days, it was quite easy to figure out they were joking.
