VW E-up, Mii electric, Citigo E mods for efficiency
This will be a topic on efficiency improvements on these cars. I currently dont yet have this car, but some of my customers have it.
2020 electric versions: Drag coefficient from factory 0,308 Frontal area 2,06987884 (petro version) Cannot find EV one Weigth is 1230kg plus driver 100kg-->1330kg I know one of my customer is reaching a 11kw @100km/h and about 10kw@80 km/h with slightly improved vehicle which has undertray at front and back under the car. Does anyone of you have that car and could measure stock car figures at those speeds around +20 celsius weather. I am not able to get those figures correct in the aero rolling resistance calculator. I propably need to multiply the watt reading with the electric engine efficiency to get correct EV values? something like 15% add on then it starts to make sense. 5% for the engine and 10% for the transmission and driveshafts bearings etc. for 2wd car https://ecomodder.com/forum/tool-aer...ToStep=40-65-1 So the tool just shows the basic energy need in Watts plus the efficiencies of the drivetrain and EV system like in normal petrol or diesel car calculations. Stock ev 100km/h 10,526watts *1,15=12,1kw ( I dont have official test number at the moment so its a guess) Modified cd 0,27 9,552 *1,15=10,98kw. I know it should be possible to get that figure even to cd 0,25 range and with few other improvements that would mean at 100km/h 8,677 watts *1,15=9978 wats -->9,98kw at 100 km/h I went to test drive a electric Mii to get the baseline figures closer levels: https://youtu.be/XVSzQGFLFCw |
I'll be no help for the numbers, but my dream would be the Volkswagen e-Beetle rollerskate with a reproduction VolkhartSagitta V2 body. Except with a modern underbody.
This photochop is rough, but it gets the idea https://ecomodder.com/forum/member-f...t-valkyrie.jpg The beetle floorpan is narrow enough at the front to get a proper front wheelwell. edit: I should go in and clean that up. It doesn't have to look that bad. :( |
