VW LUPO 3L

An interesting short video on the development of 3L VW Lupo |
My first htought was that's a lot of displacement for a light chassis. :)
edit: It's an interesting vehicle. Wikipedia gives overall production numbers. Any idea of the numbers and markets they sold into? Where they went with an electronic nanny for the manual transmission (that didn't work), my XFi just has a green light on the dashboard that prompts you to short-shift. It's logic is inscrutable. |
I was JUST about to post this exact video.
He also has a video on a VW station wagon that he aeromodded. |

Too bad we're highly unlikely to ever see such a project like the Lupo 3L again, not only because of the EV madness but also the obsession for SUVs :turtle:

The aluminum wheel rings are interesting. My first car in the 1950s had 'portawalls' but they were rubber. One wonders if the tire sidwalls are affected.
[Youtube offered a Julian Edgar video, so I check his page. He hasn't posted there in a year. I hope his bitterness has abated.] |
