VW still hasn't solved it's electrical gremlins

My test drive of the 2009 Jetta TDI continues. Today, however, there was a problem. The stereo took it upon itself to increase its volume to max suddenly and without warning several times during a 5 minute period.

The car is brand new and only has 1000 very light, media test drive miles on it. Very sad that it's already developed a mind of its own.:(

My fathers 1970 vw also developed a mostly non-functional radio quite soon after purchase, seems that VWs have repeatedly had similar problems for what now? 40 years?

At least the heat usually works :)

I've never had electrical issues with VWs. But then again i never had a VW with much less than 200k miles, soo all issues were solved by POs.

Odd, sorry to hear that, take it back - its the only way they'll learn is from the finacial pain of sorting it.

Personally with all the dubs I've had over the years I've never had any elec issues - I'm taking it I just have good luck!

...gotta be those darn "...Pharffen-Noogen Gremlins..." for sure!

Radio volume control was probably given to a kid just out of engineering school, on the Monday after Oktoberfest :P

might be something to do with the 'beer break' they have every morning!!! no-kiddin, 9:30am I was in the Dresden plant, buzzer goes off everyone wanders down to the canteen, where you can sit down and eat some sandwiches and wash it down with a beer.

hey - they do have a very loyal and willing workforce! wonder why ;)
