Want to buy Honda 13-in alloy wheel
 

WTB: One OEM 13 inch ALLOY, not steel 13 hole wheel for 86/87 Honda CRX HF. I sold a nice 87 HF about 3 years ago and wish I hadn't. I currently have and very much like my 2000 Honda insight, but I miss having more cargo space in the back, plus enjoying canyon carving abilities. So I found and picked up a nice rust free example a couple weeks back, but it's missing one proper wheel

I don't have a wheel for you, but you can get a nice boost in cargo space in the Insight if you do an IMA delete. Some replace it with a small turbo, and do not see an average MPG drop.

Professional Awesome is also working on a coilover kit for the front, which, when paired with Scott's stiffer rear springs, makes the car handle reasonably well.

I was starting to feel a little lonely 😭 I already have the batteries disabled, and I usually drive the insight only on freeways 95% of the time, and I'm still getting like 63 miles per gallon. I could see removing the weight of those batteries might help some. Very interesting what you did. Regarding the CRX hf, I happen to have four steel wheels at home, two are mounted studded tires, and the other two are old beater tires with chains all set up from my previous crx's of a few years back. As they have become quite rare now, first gen anyway, I doubt I will ever use it in the snow. I have tried to look up weights of different Wheels pretty much to no avail. I thought I might have read somewhere that the stock alloy HF wheel might be as low as 7 to 9 lb. I figure the stock steel one is at least twice as much. Don't know if I ever will be able to find another proper HF wheel, but in the meantime, I'm thinking because the CRX is a little bit late by us toward the front, then maybe I should have steel wheels on both sides on the back just so that one side of the car isn't lighter than the other? Or am I just being paranoid, because of my own physical driver weight, one steel wheel on the right rear in my tortured mind still won't equalize the weight. I also am considering trying to find stock DX wheel covers it is very flat and I think more aero looking and more of a finished look than the HF would it's flush type center cap. The latter is just not a very impressive looking wheel. I am delighted to get this rust free car from Eastern Washington because it's so much more Sunny there and dryer than where I live on the west side. But because of that a lot of the paint has severe Sun fade, so I'm even thinking of a turquoise wrap!

I personally would balance the wheel weight left to right. It probably isn't a big deal, but I'd do it anyway. I'd also wager the OEM alloys are in the ballpark of 9-11lbs, but less is possible - Honda did some pretty serious weight savings in the HF.

I just again wanted to thank Nissan driver for steering me to carparts.com. as of a few minutes ago, I will have two very nice quality Wheels coming to me from Pennsylvania. At the same time, in slow motion though, I have a local guy checking one of his two warehouses for one that he claims he has in inventory somewhere. It's a rare enough wheel, that I certainly wouldn't mind having a spare or two. Instead of using the typical very flat but rather large centerpiece for these wheels, I prefer the more aerodynamic look of the what I would just call the typical DX look flat wheel cover that just looks more aero to me. The stock lug nuts will just cause the flat wheel cover to fall off but I ordered 20 Honda lug nuts from veritech performance on eBay and they have a rubber grommet on it that holds the wheel cover on perfectly if anybody else is thinking about going this route. Yes the full-wheel cover does weigh slightly more than the center cap, but neither one of them even budges the needle on the bathroom scale haha!

Did your wheels arrive? I hope all went well. I´ve never used car-part.com to have parts shipped but I used them to find a nearby salvage yard to go get the parts. It´s a useful website for people with somewhat old cars.

I just wanted to mention that I did get two rims from Pennsylvania, but a local wrecking yard near me took a $50 deposit and ran with it and won't return my phone calls. It is a locked up yard with no office and the only connection is a phone call where somebody will eventually drive to meet you there! and it's an absolute disaster. There are so many people out there that want to rip you off! So for the local folks that live near me, without naming names, (talking about the wrecking yard name) it is located in Dollars corner near Battle ground Washington. That's all I'm going to say!
