Limited slip isn't all. Twin motors enable torque steering. With software control and a lateral accelerometer, one could enable an anti-fishtailing function.

What's with the yellow tape? Slant chop?

What's 'The Plan' !?

If it's motors, I suspect independent rear suspension, with a motor to each inner CV?
With 2 motors it would be easy to implement an 'Electronic Limit Slip Diff' etc functionality such a system gives you 'for free'.
ie: As soon as one wheel loses traction; Cadence/rpm sensors kick the motor into regen/generator mode.
A big battery for range? Or more of a "Get Going!", light system?

Integration with the rest of the system?
Torque sensors (as used in e-bikes) on the side shafts would mean little to no integration reqd with the rest of the 'stock' power management system.
ie: They measure the torque input from the std system and just add an extra 10% or 80% or whatever you dial in.

How Do Torque Sensors Work
Logic at this time its still up in the air as far as one or two gensets. The rear end I have is a modular unit I'll have more pics of it later this week. Or I could just do one because of there is room for it also.

My biggest reason is mainly because of my engine being extremely efficient at one part in the fuel map/load.

Still have a lot of work in this area, but I always foreseen that making the car a hybrid would be amazing.

I thought as much.
More 'electric' options than you can wave a stick at and no rush at all to figure that bit out.

I just wanted to get the whole torque sensor control 'in there' as a means to greatly simplify integration.
But considering how your engine works, just 'multiplying' the torque from it is probably not the best option.

I'd say a thread on Endless-Sphere, when the time comes, is a good idea.
Some of the guys there build prototype motors and controllers etc from scratch, whereas most DIY EV forum posts don't go anywhere beyond the 'Half baked idea' stage.
