I will watch this after I write my progress reports! :D

He identifies as a car-repair channeler, but he spent so much time getting the car and driving it home that the video is just about the trip.

He says he will do a full review tomorrow and there must only be 50 of these in the world.

Xist 01-08-2023 05:17 AM

Full review. He goes back and forth between praising and criticizing it. He says that he will restore it and he said that a lithium swap would be affordable, so hopefully he makes it better than new: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IG7f8pdEHm0

Lithium swap is affordable for whom? Any mass storage is getting pretty expensive, almost enough to consider going back to floodies

I don't know. He talks a lot. It is all he does.

Episode 3: JR doesn't fix anything.

I can relate! :D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhHt4deLGTI

JR rebuilt his [AC] motor

It didn't seem like much, but what have I done today?

Find a factory service manual for my Camry and look up two parts.

[I did see 3 clients]

I wonder what he paid for it after it changed hands and got a fresh set of batteries. Here's the offer up ad for the same car in 2019. Ignore the "1995 Chevrolet Cavalier" listing and the "4 cylinder manual trans" description. :

He says it has 50,000 miles--and a 50-mile range.

Xist 01-24-2023 12:27 AM

He adjusted a pulley, repainted three wheels, greased a bunch of stuff--one of the windows didn't want to open, and then he drove a whopping 30 miles on one charge.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NM6XwEwxejA

JR regrets buying the electric Metro, but is still trying to milk it for views.

He thought there would be vastly more interest and then he could sell it for a profit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jMSBeXPE6U Random videos that I want to share, but don't want to start a thread for each of them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYJtb2YXae8 We need subtitles because movies are designed for the best theater sound systems, not your phone or television, so a great deal gets lost, and some actors just mumble. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ak3rkvrt-Rw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6vnU3JuNVE I mentioned to a client the old bit where a cowboy shoots at the feet of someone and tells them to dance.

My client wanted to see that.

I didn't think that I could find it easily, but I searched for "Dance, mailman, dance!" and immediately found this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZag1zlecGI However, that line was only in the comments, not the video, which completely missed the scene with Al using the remote to Cliff's electric underwear.

I have closed dozens of YouTube tabs again, but still have hundreds!

The Sound Effects and Music of McCabe and Mrs. Miller
In the film McCabe and Mrs Miller it used both "natural diegetic which are sounds such as dialogue and sound effects, using complementary non-diegetic sounds such as background music or enhanced sound effects to intensify the moods, or using unrealistic sounds for dramatic or comic counterpoint to the image."

You must have more RAM than I.

Xist 06-05-2023 04:42 PM

32GB.
I keep starting to go through the rest of my tabs, but I have too many things to do.

Mom came up and asked where we were going to live, so I showed her the closest house I found to my school and she told me to apply.

It is weird, though, the picture doesn't match Google's streetview from a year ago.

It wants proof of income, so I went to get my GI bill certificate, and it said "We usually decide on applications within 30 days."

That doesn't help.

So, I am putting in my pay for the last year, even though I don't expect to work, although I would prefer to.

It asks for contact information.

I don't have any idea who the office manager is for either agency. Google didn't turn up anything and even though I work for a huge company, the only e-mail address I found was hiring@.

I called and got voice mail. I called back and just wanted a name, but the lady said "Let me transfer you to [mumble] in HR."

I think that we have a hundred speech therapists that could help her with that.

I just got voice mail again--without a name announcement.
When I searched for the name of my company and HR, Google gave me a name, and when I searched our directory I found her.

I can finally proceed with that one step!

Of course, Zillow logged me out while I tracked down the contact information.

I needed to look up my tax information and the site I used kept logging me out.

When I logged back in it said "You were logged into two locations, so we logged you out of both."

No, I was logged into one location, you logged me out, I logged back in, and then I needed to log back in immediately!

I always wish that I could go back in time and do world-saving things, like preventing war, providing everyone with clean water, or preventing Volkswagens from ever being built, but sometimes, just sometimes, I wish that things worked the way they were supposed to.

Oh, I wish that I could make people do what they are supposed to, but it really does not sound like too much to expect inanimate objects to cooperate.

Fighting words

fighting words | Wex | US Law | LII / Legal Information Institute
Fighting words are words meant to incite violence such that they may not be protected free speech under the First Amendment. The U.S. Supreme Court first defined them in Chaplinsky v New Hampshire (1942) as words which "by their very utterance, inflict injury or tend to incite an immediate breach of the peace.
