What could Ultra Ever Dry do for fuel economy I wonder???
I was told about this new product today. Pretty amazing video showing the stuff in action. As I was watching it, I was wondering if air flow would be improved any somehow. If anything, sprayed under a car, you wouldn't have mud or maybe even slush sticking to the underside, thus adding extra weight. If it repels slush and snow, THAT ALONE may be VERY helpful!!
Ultra Ever dry - Youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPM8OR6W6WE If anything, it's a COOL product FOR SURE!!! |
Too cool. Time for some lateral thinking...
|
...nice, but isn't that stuff degraded by sunlight (ultra-violet) and have to be reapplied often?
|
This stuff is 500 USD for 2 US Gal - you need 2 parts, a bottom and a top coat.
Ouch ... Oh, and not intended for personal use - only industrial use. Though even if it works only half as good as in the video, it's cool stuff ... |
Might be useful as the final coat in the rust proofing under your car.

This has some merit. Shedding water droplets would help aero.
I don't think this is a unicorn topic but I don't think you could quantify it as better than 1/2% improvement. |
Keeps the rims free of brake dust (or would clear at the first drop of water).
If it is clear and causes no distortion then it would beat Rain-X big time; byebye wipers. Snow will glide off (I Waxoyled my car, it had almost the same effect for a while); again if it is clear. No need to wash the car. It will be less sensitive to scratching or denting the paint. Maybe 500$ is not that bad after all. |
