What happened to the $30 unlimited tablet plans

My mom is looking to “get internet “ for the first time in 20 years

I recall a major provider have a $30 unlimited plan for tablets like her iPad but I am coming up with zilch. (She doesn’t otherwise have or want cell service)

I’ve found the T-Mobile $50 unlimited home internet service but $50 isn’t $30 and it’s a pain dragging a station

Anyone have a linky to a good alacarte plan?

I apparently have Elon’s internet here in my area but it’s bloody expensive
Mint has Terrible coverage
And Sprints $15 unlimited Kickstarter was canceled after the takeover which is very unfortunate.

Hoping to find something cheap that has half a chance of having reception in central Wisconsin

She would even settle for wired internet but besides Frontier dsl with its sky high installation fees everything is expensive compared to T-Mobiles wireless home internet

My son uses a prepaid wireless burner phone for hotspot access when he's off catching endangered rats. Something like $30 a month for unlimited data bought at wallyworld.

Generally speaking, Sprint (and its MVNOs) has the weakest coverage, but is often the cheapest. There's virtually no Sprint coverage where I live. I use Mint for my phone, which has the same coverage as TMobile - Mint uses TMobile's network.

Mint's unlimited plan is easily the cheapest at $30: https://www.mintmobile.com/product/0...t&subid=3large

If TMobile's coverage doesn't work for her, Visible has a $40/month unlimited plan on Verizon's network: https://www.visible.com/deals/?CMP=M...oDcQ&gclsrc=ds

Be aware that most of these "unlimited" plans throttle after a certain number of gigabytes.

Mint is $30 a month but charge about double MSRP for their ready to use phones

iPhone SE $720 from mint bundled with service (found it strange they don’t list the SE cost alacarte

I have a friend that tried to buy a kit to add mint to his unlocked phone, spent many hours on tech support and couldn’t get mint coverage to work and ended up telling them to shove it.

I could walk you through getting it working. The difficulties are around getting SMS and MMS to work; data works out of the box. I put Mint on a phone I was previously using through Fi.
