Possibly better than you think with the aeromods. The main reasons older cars didn't get very good efficiency were bad aero, low compression (that far back) or crappy transmission technology needing low gears to even get moving that made it scream on the highway. The BSFC of such engines (fuel used per HP produced) has improved very little over time, early engines also produced about as much torque per cubic inch much of the time just at slower speeds, and therefore alot less horsepower. Cylinder heads have become more efficient but the improvements are not world of changing, it's not like you'd use twice as much fuel back then for the same HP.

The Model T was said to get 20-25mpg back in it's day. how are modern pickups comparing to a 100 year old one?



What model was the original car and can anyone place the type of engine?
