Wheel Spat Help
Ok I'm wanting to add spats to the front and rear wheels. I'm seeing different ones which is making it confusing. It looks like they just go in front of the wheel.
Ok so onto the questions. Is there a stand off distance they need to be from the wheel? How low do they need to be? look at #1 How wide do they need to be? (guessing the width of the tire) Do they need to be straight up and down? (I would think being at an angle to be more aerodynamic towards the wheel would be better, but i'm no expert) Picture below which would be better 1 or 2 https://scontent.fsjc1-3.fna.fbcdn.n...ed&oe=58D517D2 |

I'd recommend Goro Tamai's book,'The Leading Edge' for an in depth discussion on wheel drag. |
Not exactly tested, but I went big with my front wheel spats. I wanted all of the air that would normally hit the tire directed around to the outside.
