Welcome to EM! What car do you have? What year is it?

There is something equivalent to Elmscan in Europe :

ScanTool.net - Home - Welcome to ScanTool.net

Later tonight I will try to look for a website in Europe that has this. Here is one example, but I think it is not what you want (you need computer in car at all times to use it) :

OBDCOM OBD-II OBD II Scan Tool OBD2 OBDII OBD-2 Scan Tools OBD Scan Auto Scan Tool OBD Software OBDII Scan Tool OBD2 Scan Tool OBD II Scan Tool ScanTool Check Engine Diagnostic Tool Diagnostic Scan Tool OBDII Diagnostic Tool OBD Tools Scan Tools Chec

Welcome on EM.

If your car is OBD2/EOBD then you can buy a SGII from http://scangauge.net

I did and it arrived within a week, but my cars aren't OBD2 :(

What is your car ? (register it inside the EM garage)

If it's 2000 or newer for a gasoline or 2004 or newer for a diesel then there is great probability it works.

You can send a mail to telematica (European reseller) and they'll reply you quickly. See coordinates on the web site.

Denis.

Thx for answering.
I have Fiat Punto 1.1 y. 1996. 1 point injection.

groar: How i can check what OBD2/EOBD i have?

groar 09-27-2008 06:55 PM

You can check you have a compatible plug near the steering wheel : Which OBD-II protocol is supported by my vehicle? - Powered By Kayako eSupport. Mine is in fuse box.
The plug must be identical, as well as the pins. Careful : this is needed but not sufficient.

But 1996 is certainly too old for a European car to be EOBD (European name for OBD2). See : How do I know whether my car is OBD-II compliant? - Powered By Kayako eSupport

The simplest is to send a mail to telematica (European reseller) and they'll reply you quickly. See coordinates on the web site.

Denis.

Your Punto is my favorite slot car :

I did some more looking. Someone says it works in their 1997 Punto,

Does Fiat Punto Support Obd2? - MP3Car.com

I followed a sales link in the above to the following URL. It claims to work on your Fiat, but I just don't know (location in Hong Kong isn't a good sign) :

ELM327 USB AUTO SCAN Tool CAR SCANNER OBD2 OBD-II - eBay (item 270280058869 end time Sep-28-08 19:36:58 PDT)

Here's another site to look at :

List of Confirmed Vehicle OBD-II Scan Tool Protocols

It says it was tested on a newer Punto, but it also says it could work on many other cars.
