Tesla electric sedan to be unveiled today
I can't quite say I'm "breathlessly" awaiting the car's unveiling, but I am very curious to see what they've got planned.
Supposedly today's the day the cover comes off.

The Mercury News has a quote from the designer that gives more of an indication of what to expect in design/styling:
Quote:
The debut of the Model S is also one for Franz von Holzhausen, the celebrated designer lured by Tesla away from Mazda last year. In an interview this week, he said his move gives him the game-changing opportunity to design greener cars.
"My goal is not to provide a quirky, unique vehicle, but something very palatable, very marketable," he said. "I have no intention of designing a car for other designers. This is a mass-market car."

And: see this EM thread for discussion of the various teaser shots and Photoshop versions of the car:

They're still claiming mid $50's USD. $49ish with government incentives.

It sure is purdy. I like the tiny mirrors. Kinda wondering what is up with the propeller like wheels though.

Blenders, to satisfy the uninitiated about things aero. :P
I like it too. See the rear diffuser? Probably functional, considering it'll have a completely smooth undertray. I'm looking forward to the Cd & A figures.

Is it possible that the Tesla wheels are intended to pull air out from under the car like the late lamented AVS Shadow Can-Am car? The 'fan blades' are oriented that way...

Only if it drives in reverse. As pictured they will work to push air under the car.
