Why won't my vibe Idle?
2005 Pontiac Vibe Recent collision damage; Runs fine with throttle; but unfortunately it attempts to idle at 300 rpm and just will not stay running at that speed; any ideas?
No codes on ScanGauge II Battery is currently very low; charging at 25 amps now Fuel was super low; now 1/2 tank Any and all Ideas very welcome; I'm flying out to the left coast tomorrow and would really like to have the car on the road before I leave. |
The batt is likely the culprit -- not enough juice to idle fully.
Have you driven it very far in an attempt to charge it? I would take it to a big-box auto parts store for a free charging system analysis (Auto Zone, Advance Auto, etc.) Best of Luck... RH77 |
fixed now pinched pcv hose on back of head will post more later driving and posting makes for bad mpg
|
I'd also check the IAC to see if its gummed up or something

just got back from mall warts in the vibe no issues.
Basically all that happened was I pinched a pcv line under the engine cover during my hasty re asymbley. Looks like I may make it to the monteray Italian meet this weekend :-) |
Good stuff! Glad to hear it was an inexpensive fix and not the batt or alternator...
Enjoy your trip :) RH77 |
I just realized that in my haste I also forgot to thank everyone.
Thanks for the quick replies! |
