Window tinting is a mod to consider

When I bought my Rondo I was hoping the AC worked...it didn't. )^=
So I had the windows tinted and it made the interior much more tolerable on hot summer days. Add a good windshield shade (when parked....not for driving lol) and you can make running without AC much easier to bear by just using the fan.
Just a thought from the noob here.

Some one else tested this.
They showed an average of 20 degree F reduction after the tint.

What kind of tint was tested? Can you give me a link? I want to use ceramic tint on my vehicles, which is the highest quality available. I've seen like up to a 40 degree reduction in heat advertised.

Of course there are limits - some municipalities police the window tint levels more aggressively than others. Others may not permit, for instance, reflective tint.

I've been reading about some metallic films that do a fantastic job of reflecting IR but the caveat there is they can seriously interfere with cellular reception. I've also seen mention of a so-called "ceramic" film - I would assume some kind of nanomaterial - that provides good IR rejection while still keeping the visible light transmitted - the number the po-po will be interested in - up in the acceptable levels.

I think the minimum light transmitted requirements don't apply to the back doors or rear window; obviously you would need to check up on that in your locale.

I tested 80% ceramic tint on my 2018 Honda CRV. The data won't format correctly, but here it is. NO tint on windshield! Front and rear sides and rear windows had factory colored window glass before tinting. Rear window didn't get the 80% applied. Big difference on the inside temperature even in the full sun, but didn't measure IR (no device to measure with). Interesting that on subsequent measurements of the windshield, the result were always zero for the inside UV.

Glass Measurements Outside Inside
Windshield Lux 1280 877
UV 7.5 0

Front Side Lux 1040 610
UV 7.5 2.5

Rear Side Lux 1120 150
UV 7.5 .5

Sun Roof Lux 1380 275
UV 7.5 0
