It was full of brand new Mazdas destined for the North American market - Miatas, CX-7's, Madza 3's... all strapped down on the cargo decks, heeled over at a 60 degree angle. Mazda shredded them all after the ship was righted & offloaded. Even though there was no apparent physical damage to the majority of the cars, they couldn't guarantee them afterwards. Whee, lawyers! Still an interesting read. |
To bad for the cars, good for the ship.

Bah they should have sold them at a super reduced rate, no warranty, and a waiver.
|
They were probably also thinking about what that might do to the sales of new vehicles... Plus the insurance co. probably paid for it all.
