Wired Boat Tail

We got the trailer lights and license plate bracket wired up yesterday. I spent some time this morning securing connections and providing for strain relief, then we went for a ride to buy a new bulb for the plate light. We had a 4 mph wind out of the south south east, the baro was at 26.1 in Hg, and the temps were around 68 F. We averaged runs on I-25 going south and north to cancel out the wind and grade. We averaged 24.05 mpg at 65 mph and then we averaged 20.2 mpg at 75 mph. I tried doing 80 mph on the down wind leg for a few minutes and we pulled a 20 mph which makes sense as we were doing 76 mph corrected. Interestingly enough we pulled 39 mpg on Ft Selden Rd traveling west at 45 mph. I would need to average this figure also which I have not done but it is a fun number for a F-150 truck with 36 sq ft of frontal area. We expect to be seeing higher numbers if we can get some belly pan work done. Home Depot quoted me $225 for 10 sheets of black chloroplast but the white is only $110. looks like white it will have to be. |
Do you plan to have ( stealth ) gap fillers for the wheel wells ?

Eventually, I am working my way forward. Rear wheel liners, belly pan work, then wheel covers.
