Would you pay $5500 for a Honda Civic VX?
would you?
clean, no mods, 130k miles, family owned since 1992, |
I wouldn't, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't. It's only money. :)
|
Depends on how long you intend to keep it and how long it will last. Throw a low ball offer in and see what happens if you like it.
|
If it had 30k instead of 130k miles I'd consider it.
|
I would at least consider it. But only if it is original paint and no rust ever. Remove the 2 small plastic covers from the inner plastic wheelhouse panels and look in with a flashlight to see if the wheel arches or quarter panels have ever been repaired.
The drivetrains on these cars are very long lasting providing of course they have regular oil and fluid changes. Only the rust kills 'em. Just in case you didn't know a 1992 vx has no pass airbag..only drivers airbag |
ok thanks
now i just need to borrow cash from some place!! with no credit!!! i need this car right now!! |
No credit, borrowing more than the car blue books for (approximately $2000 is the highest I found on KBB for a '94)? You might be better off buying it with a credit card. ;)
For that kind of money, you can get a 1st gen Insight. Here's one in Seattle, don't know where in Washington you are. $5000, 128k miles, 5 speed, 2nd owner, all the service records, new tires. |

NADA insurance value on a 1994 or older Civic VX is $5,500
Rust, accidents and of course teenagers are what would lower the value more then anything else. A Civic VX can rack up over 300,000 miles without needing much more the fluid changes, timing belts, tune ups, tires and exhaust. |
Great. Get enough buyers like this and the used car market can be destroyed just like the housing market.
