Metro parts or car

I have access to a Geo Metro. It is a 4cyl w/ auto tranny (not something most of us want) The motor burns a tremendous amount of oil so it is no good. From what I understand it has been garaged for all but the last 6 months of its life.

So basically, it's not yours, but it could be?

Easily fixed, for the right price.

Good candidate for a rebuild or swap, wouldn't you say?

So the body is good?

So basically, the price is $400-$500... because you have a personal mark-up on it?

I only ask because I'm actually interested, so forgive my seemingly impersonal attitude.

yes, as far as i could tell the body is great, although i have not crawled underneath it (if i remember correctly the control arm is good way of telling the condition of the underbody, but the pic doesn't have a very good angle) One cylinder is not firing so it may be best to swap it. Yes I am putting my markup on it.

Ok, now that that's out of the way, once I hear about this guy that's supposed to be buying my Civic, I'll be in contact.

It's a 4th gen (1989) Honda Civic DX Sedan (not hatchback) has 4 doors.

Engine rebuilt but maybe starting to use a little oil, and has a minor gasket leak somewhere under the hood. (too lazy to check) Pulls very strong, typically gets 40mpg w/ a 5 speed tranny. Comes with a spare set of axles, needs tires, and I can get lifetime free brakes for it. (Already have them, but you'd have to send me to the store to get the warranty fulfilled when the pads go soft)

Other than that, there is a little rust that needs fixed on the rear corners, and the interior of the car is gutted except the front seats that came from a Mazda 626GT, and the dash/console from a '88 CR-X Si, and the rear glove tray from the same, although the glove tray is in ill repair.

The guy that wanted to buy it offered me $800 pending a sale he was working on... I have no idea if he still wants it or not.

What year model? I'm possibly interested in the aero headlights/housings. Also a stock radio if it still has one. And a passenger side window crank. That's all I can think of right now, unless anyone knows some other upgrades for a 96 Base Metro model.

Oh, and the dew/wipe strips/trim at base of windows (outside) for both doors, and the lower piece of trim across the bottom of the back window (on the outside).

Only things I can think of that might be different are the interior parts... like the consoles, etc. But that's all depending on if you care about upgrading the look of your hypermiler.
