Zap in China
 

I read somewhere that China did not want anything to do with US batteries. It was not quite correct. Reading this is interesting.

(I wonder if the Eco Motors mentioned has anything to do with that shipment of Eco Motors cars that vanished.)

This is strange - It looks like all of ZAP's vehicles are made in China. ZAP does not appear to make charging equipment, battery swap equipment nor anything else EV related - they appear to only buy from other companies.

A glorified plug can't be that hard to copy. I'd imagine the Chinese will only buy a couple of token 'charging stations' before they start mass producing their own.

In addition, how is it that a Chinese city would want to buy Chinese vehicles through a US retailer? Do any US cities go through Chinese brokers to buy a Chevy? :confused:

I have no idea what is going on over in China. I think there was a big flap about the Chery, then I hear that GM is selling very well there. The Eco Commuter was intended to be a 650 cc gas power vehicle. I have not heard a thing this year about that Triac; another China vehicle.
