Zero MPG or Burrito Powered

Hey Ya'll,

Here is a peak at my latest creation. Before and after.

Before

After:

It get's better mileage than a Prius, it's been lowered for more cool, and less drag.

Been staring at code for freaking forever this evening, so........

Gonna EV it or Fred Flintstone?

Greenblazer 06-11-2008 03:36 AM

Human Powered first, and maybe electric later on.

That's a nice looking bike there. I wish I had the space/time to do something like that, I would so make it an EV. It would be a really fun EV to ride around town.

This one was electric, I used it for my local errands, but alas it was stolen. Worst part is that the bike was my art, and it's really hard having your art stolen.

O ver nice, I like the green fuzz all over it.

Where do you get those tires from? Do you just salvage those chopper bicycles from the store?

That is sick!

The Green Fuzzy Chopper was a Schwinn Sting-Ray Chopper with a stretched frame, custom seat, extended forks, and it glowed at night too. The fur was backlit with electrolumenescent tape, the idea was cool, but it wasn't bright enough to really pop except in a very dark garage.

Here is a little progress, these handle bars are not quite right.

So I had to make some:

That's too bad. I wish I could have been there when you described it to the police. :)

Greenblazer 06-12-2008 04:28 AM

I wish the Police gave a crap, they didn't, they weren't even a little bit interested in trying to help. They just tried to pass the buck, and avoid dealing with it. Unfortunately police have never been of any assistance to me when I needed their help. On the other hand if I slip up and do something wrong they are all over me with that ticket book. There was one time after a motorcycle accident that they handcuffed me to my hospital bed, because they thought my bike was stolen, it wasn't, but both my arms were broken, and so was my back. I was on a morphine drip, and the handcuffs were not necessary.

Here is an updated picture of my bike. It is still not totally finished, but it is rideable(barely), and I am taking it to Burning Man as is. When I come back I plan to modify it further to make it a little easier to ride.

Wild. I want to know how/where you shift gears?

Greenblazer 08-12-2008 07:47 AM

At the moment there is no shifting, or brakes. I have the parts to make all that happen, but I don't want to run cables all the way to the handlebar, so I plan to make a "Suicide" style shifter with the brake handle attatched. It will stick out from below the seat, so I can reach down at my side to grab the control.
