Zipline's whisper-quiet drones deliver to your backyard--and bigger drones deliver life-saving supplies

I don't know if they are operating elsewhere--yet, but they have electric planes parachuting supplies in Rwanda all day, everyday, and orders go out in 90 seconds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOWDNBu9DkUThey interview a Rwandan engineer who attended Stanford and Harvard and used to fix local hospital's MRI machines for free following YouTube videos.

He also lost his entire family and has a machete scar from the same attack.

Mark Rober says the country got better after the civil war.

I would hope so!

He said that everyone was helpful and friendly, except random kids with whom he tried to play soccer.

He said they were merciless!

I saw that. I think they're onto something.

I was amazed that hospitals in a 150 miles radius need something on the average every 90 seconds.

Also the airframes. pusher-puller on the original, and the four plus one on the newer model. The original remind me of the Arado AR-232 'millipede' cargo plane

Well, they are transporting small packages, not entire cargo vehicles.

Blood sounds pretty urgent, but going even larger for non-urgent items makes sense to me.

If here in the U.S. they have small drones to drop off lunch, bandaids, and other small orders, why not use large drones to deliver normal hospital supplies?

Eh. Save lives first, then worry about making the rest of the supply chain more efficient.

Not having to maneuver as much as an ambulance trying to escape from traffic jams, with excessive braking and subsequent throttling, I guess for some emergencies it could actually be more efficient. On a sidenote, drones have already been used by drug dealers to deliver small amounts of weed in Rio de Janeiro, no joke.

Reportedly, in Tokyo, local gangs have started using drones to transport drugs across the city.
In response, the police are using net-carrying drones to try to capture these packets mid-air.
The gangs are counter-attacking with their own net-drones to try and drop police drones.
In a statement with the Tokyo police, they say they "Haven't had this much fun in ears"
I don't have any idea if there is any truth to this, just that when I first searched I found results of cartels using drones very poorly.

I guess the shorter distances the cariocas are using the drones make it easier, not to mention some favelas are quite close to some middle and high-income boroughs where the drugs would be consumed.
