I see now that that was in the original post.

The reason I ask is that my friends have an old Allis-Chalmers garden tractor that they said I could get running, and my first thought is — EV conversion.

But now the question becomes: How do you bridge from the 3-phase 220V connector to the 110V outlet?

If I understand my electrical theory correctly (huge if) the 220V motor could be bridged to DC at the Root Mean Square of 220V, whatever that is.

The treadmill power supply & controller does that. I could have used a variable frequency drive (would declutter the contraption) but there only good for 1.5hp off 110. Wouldn't have far to run 220 if I choose to invest later on. For now the goofy interface is sufficient.
