I talked to three different guys at O'Reilly about depowering the system while I was working on it. They advertise making their own hoses, so I went and asked about the loop, but since I cannot remove Cylinder Lines A and B without dropping the rack, I could only say that it required a 12mm wrench to remove. He said "You are creating a nightmare!" and I told him that I would find someone who would help.
He said they made the wrong type of hose, they did not have the proper fittings or tubing.
Do I just find an Aeroquip vendor and purchase a grab bag?!
Actually...
BobSagatOr on CivicForums.com (
DIY: Removing Power Steering - Honda Civic Forum) was at least the main one talking about Aeroquip. He said that it was "overkill and a bit expensive," but he was going off of another build thread, and they used Aeroquip. He linked
Hydraulics Group Distributor Locator, which shows GHX Industrial LLC, with various services four miles from me.
Hold on! I am smart! S-M-R-T! S-M-R-D'oh!
He lists:
Quote:
FCM2240 14mm supply line fitting
FCM2241 16mm return line fitting
|
I found FCM2246:
-6AN to 12mm x 1.5''
So, I probably need to find what fits that and a length of hose?
That connects to FCM1512:
Red/Blue Straight Socketless Fitting, -6AN
That connects to the hose!
So, in theory, I need FCM2246 x 2 and a very short hose?
Then I just need to find a less expensive version!
