glazing is caused by braking too softly for too long

staying on the brakes once you've stopped, won't help either as it keeps the heat in the brakes

Press the brakes relatively hard and release just before making a full stop, allowing the car to roll another foot or so. The pads become fully free from the disc. Never had warped discs in 25 years of driving. Keeping the brake pedal pressed after reaching a stop is a sure guarantee for that.

I just hit a button on my shifter to slow down, and it doesn't involve the brake pads at all, only the brake lights

I pretty much don't use my brakes at all any more, they're more for compliance than utility!
