Mk1 Insight aquired, to go with my Lupo 3L

Looks like I now have two eco cars

Just bought a Mk1 Insight on ebay for peanuts, there might be some issues relating to the battery but hey it was only £900 (about $1500) Its a JDM manual one imported in 2006 with 160k on the clock.

Shall update you all later in the week & get some pictures of my steeds side by side, the existing one is my Lupo 3L Tdi, Two rare cars in the garage

Nice! Congrats on the pick up. Will you be starting a build thread?

Is it a MY2006 or just imported in 2006... Peter's been looking for a 2005-2006 ECM to experiment with and seems to have given up on finding a JDM/UK one. You might contact him at 150mpg@gmail.com and see if you two can get together. Trust me, he can make it very interesting to do so (he's got lots of cool gadgets in his shop).

Looking forward to seeing another Insight on here, nice price too!

I'd trade you my Insight for that Lupo in a heartbeat. Wish they sold them here!

Well I picked it up last night on the trailer behind my hideously uneconomical Landcruiser! (18mpg towing)

Got it home & have been having a good poke round, its seems much better than I was expecting! Its quite clean straight & very tidy. Only issues spotted are some bleed on the charge/assist LCD display & the rear shocks need sorting ASAP.

First impressions, It's massively noisier than the Lupo!!! You'd think the Lupo was electric compared to this & yes the Lupo is of course a diesel.

The insight feels like a much lighter car (not that it is) it's crash'ier over the bumps & there seems not a lot suspension of travel, it's more like one of my old race cars lol. Still it goes quite well, it being a JDM one the trip meter in KM/L is obviously wrong as its had a KMH to MPH speedo conversion done, so that's on my list to sort out & get rid of the stupid aftermarket immobiliser thats been fitted.

So here are two rare eco cars side by side, next job a full clean & see what we've got
