MyMPGTracker - ECUTracker (Free Mobile Mileage/Digital Dashboard)

Although still in Alpha/Beta stage, I've written a totally free piece of software for ECU Monitoring that includes real-time Mileage Tracking.

MyMPGTracker.com - ECUTracker

It runs on any Java enabled Mobile Phone or PDA. Or even a dedicated In-Car-PC (this is how I use it). Coupled with a Bluetooth ELM327 (such as the OBDLink), you can very easily watch your real-time MPG values. Or, if you own a Subaru, it also runs the SSM protocol.

Plus, the website that It's hosted on, is a dedicated Mileage Tracking Website.
Also, still in Alpha/Beta mode. But, it is working! The website clearly needs a bit more work. But, it's designed to make it as easy as possible for someone to track a vehicles Mileage. It allows users to send simple TEXT messages from their cell phones to update their mileage info. Or use a mobile phone friendly web-page to enter the info directly.

Anyway... I just thought I'd share my pet project with you Ecomodder Types!!
My endevor to reign in my own fuel costs, hopefully will benefit others as well!

Cheers
Shane.

Currently android support is through the "J2ME Runner" app. It allows J2ME apps to run on the Android platform. But... a proper Android port is in the works. So, yeah, and yeah!!

Do you sell or can you recommend a low-cost, decent quality Java enabled Mobile Phone or PDA for dedicated use?

Thanks for the props guys! It's been quite a fun project to work on.

@coehorn, I don't sell anything at all. But, I can confirm that ECUTracker runs on my Palm Pilot TX with the IBM Java9 runtime installed (hard to find, but I have the binaries). I don't know if that could be considered "low cost" though. Prior to the install of my CarPC, I used to mount my PDA to a simple dash holder, and a 12v plug to keep it light up and charged. I'd say for dedicated use, you might want to look into some sort of cheap PDA, if for no other reason than the screen size.

Here is a photo of a previous generation of ECUTracker (it was called JDash Mobile).
ECUTracker Looks very similar to this.
The nice thing about the Palm Tx is that the lower part of the screen where the hand-writing section is, can be hidden from view. Thus, ECUTracker can actually use the whole screen. And, even be rotated sideways if a wide view is preferred.

I'm trying to get it to work on my iPAQ 210 with no success. I've installed JavaFX, but when I try to install the .jar it says it is not signed or one of the components can't be found. Any ideas?
