After thinking about it for quite a bit, and even nixing the purchase, my wife fell in love with the 2013 Pathfinder, and wanted to trade in her car for it. So we got it.... 4X4 (I still refer to it as all wheel drive), with the tow package.

Compaired to her 2005 Accord her to and from work mileage is about the same believe it or not, at least according to the dash indicator 18.5mpg. On the highway at 75-80 we were getting 24 ish, at 65 about 30 ish. The engine runs about 2500 rpm at 75.

Is it a V6 or I4? Seems to be geared really low for a V6. Still not terrible mileage for an unmodded SUV

I'm somewhat disappointed that Nissan basically made a Mazda CX9 clone with them.

Frank: its largely due to her driving, sitting in the car during lunch with the AC on etc...

Just making sure I have this straight: She got rid of a Honda sedan or coupe for an SUV, she goes 80 mph down the highway, and she idles it throughout lunch break. Is this right?

Unfortunately yes.

Though the SUV is more like a minivan with normal doors and a bit more capability.

Yeah the new Pathfinder is not body on frame like the older ones, I think.
