This will be interesting. I kinda doubt it'll sell well, but hope the best for it.

Touted as the smallest four-seater in the world. At just 120-inches long it is roughly one-foot longer than the Smart fortwo.

...the iQ is powered by a 1.3-liter 4-cylinder and gets a CVT transmission. No performance or fuel economy numbers are available, but Scion says to expect fuel economy in the high-30 mpg range.

Safety features will also be big on this small car with standard abs, vehicle stability control traction control and 10 airbags – including a world’s first rear window curtain airbag.

Even here in Belgium, I haven't seen many on the road though it's been out for quite a while.

Unfortunately, the US will get the less efficient 1.3L engines ...
With the 1 liter engine and manual transmission, it is one of very few petrol cars with a C02 output of less than 100g/km (99).
The European rating is 4.4 L/100km or 53.5mpg (US).

We also get a 1.4L diesel engine, which is 3.9 L/100km or 60.3 mpg - though with 103 g/km CO2).

They'd be nifty cars to commute in - strip out the cramped rear seats and throw in LPi .

Yes.
5 speed in the 1 L.
6 speed in the 1.3L and 1.4L diesel.
