Short tuft test video : 1993 Civic Hunchback

Hello all, I did this ultra quick tuft test of my car from many, many years ago when cameras had only a moments worth of recording time.

Rains were approaching and i was rushed, but managed to film the run just as it started to rain.

At the time, I was trying to imagine how someone could get most of the benefits of a full boat-tail without the length.

The piece of cardboard taped to the left side of the cars rear window is all that is left of the test that was aborted as rains approached.

I wanted to see what would happen if you added two small boat-tails to the back of a car versus one long one.
( Imagine a boat-tail attached to the glass on the car, as well extending from the bumper.)

I realize that the bottom half of the top boat-tail would be in stagnant air, as well as the top of the boat-tail on the bottom half protruding from the bumper, but i wanted to see if any air that curved over the sides of the taillights would energize the wake.

Ehhh. I had a lot of time to waste eh ?

Anyways, the car was factory stock with the exception of convex smooth hubcaps and i had the mirror folded back at the time.
