Sunswift eVe solar car
This is another practical solar car, not unlike the SolarWorld GT car from Bochum University. This one is called the Sunswift eVe and it is designed and built by Sydney's University of New South Wales:
eVe - Sunswift
eVe - Your New Solar Car by UNSW Sunswift, Alexander To, Lily Liu, Kimberly Wong, Sam Paterson, Carson Au, Michael Diedricks, Mark Diaz, Rebecca WK Yu, Bryan Curtin, William Widjaja, Robyn Hutchinson, Aaron Abundo, Tim Smith, Robert Makepeace, Stephe
Sunswift Eve is a solar car for everyone, maybe [w/video]
We'll know more after August 9th about how it goes.

It looks normal until the last picture, then I just wonder where the people go.
Minor detail! Other than that, it looks amazing!

This is probably a two seater, (like the SolarWorld GT car) and they fit in the front where the floor is lowest to the ground.
For those of you on Facebook, there are a lot of construction pictures on their page: https://www.facebook.com/UNSWSunswift
Edit: here's the floor pan under construction - it appears that the batteries will be in the central tunnel, and the footwells for the two people do look a bit narrow:
Here's the solid model of the chassis:

I always figured an electric S-10 with solar cells on the hood, roof of cab and bed with solar celled tonneau cover would provide a good portion of the vehicles power needs and also be affordable, have room for real people and their things.

Funny, it looks like a race car. What is it's top speed?

AFAIK
Top Speed = 140 km/h max --- They had it up to 127km/h in the Solar Race.
15kwh Panasonic Li Battery --- would give up to ~500km per charge.
Weight ~300kg
two 98.3% Efficient CSIRO Wheel Motors peak of 10kw power
4m^2 of SunPower Solar cells
SunPower Cells are ~21.5% Efficient ... 1000W per m^2 light input
~860W Solar Array.
Plan to upgrade to 4 wheel motors for ~20kw peak

It's been 4 years now, how has this vehicle come along? Actually existing and driving?
