Short answer: NEVER.

Car companies are in the business (key word) of making profits via building cars.
Marketing tells the company what sells and the engineers are there to make it all happen.

There are more than a few car companies which have been run by engineers and went broke.

Good greif, I couldn't bring myself to watch more than half of it.

Also, is it just me, or does it seem like Hyundai basically rips off everyone elses look and merges them into their own vehicles?

Trust me its better that we let Asian car manufacturers do rip offs of European and occasionally American cars. Nearly all the nice looking Asian cars are nice because they either copied someone else or just hired the designer from a Euro manufacturer. I love Japanese cars, just not for their unique styling. When they try to do it themselves the results aren't great. Exhibit A:
