Starter rebuild options

I was needing to redo a starter on a 97 saturn (135k miles), the local parts store wanted $130 for a rebuilt one ($200 without a core). I didn't feel like rebuilding it by hand either.

I discovered that there were alternator and starter places in the area (yellow pages) and without much shopping around found a place near me that rebuilt it to brand spanking new looking for $80 and had it ready the next day. I'm sure some places could do it while you wait even, and they are probably all over the place.

So thats it. Your local alternator/starter rebuild shop is an option to look into if your starter (or alternator) needs some help and you can remove and install the starter. They might also come in handy if you ever get some other electrical motor type projects going.
