Yes it will help, your rings and sleeves are ferris metal, along with your roller bearings, but the bushings are all brass and bronze, some lead alloys as well so you still need to change your filter and use one that picks up small particals, also a bit of the grit in oil is dust from the air that has passed your air filter.
