I poke around Google Maps every once in a while.
Is this summer or winter for the south pole?
Here's why i'm wondering....
The south pole at a glance.
Look at the bottom right of the above picture. Is that.... yes, it is...
It's lake water.
take a look here at ice melting and sliding north, refrezeing as it hits the colder water.
Now i know the north pole has had lakes and run-off before, each time it gradually gets worse. (thus the worry about the north Atlantic current shutting down.)
But the south pole? I thought that one was supposed to be 10x harder to melt.
