Has anyone considered building on one of those platforms which hook into the trailer hitch point and it add a couple foot platform behind the car to strap stuff to. it seems like an ideal solution because you dont have to deal with any extra wheels and you could build a full boattail on one if you wanted and it would be removable. it might limit the weight of stuff you could carry but would be way easier than a trailer.
