seems like a logic choice to me aswell to have it attached on the vehicle rear, but i suppose that in the states there are regulations aswell on how long your load can stick out of the rear. in my country i think it's 1,50 meter, and on the front it's forbidden to have something stick out.

with a trailer i suppose you need to respect norms and regulations and have it tested and insured.
