You'd be surprised.

Take one Geo Metro,
Remove back seat, remove front passenger seat,
Go to friends house where they just chopped down some tall pine,
Help friend cut and split wood,
Fill Geo and drive home,
Not very fast.
I got 3/4 cord in the Geo once. I wouldn't recommend it though. I never got out of third gear.
Luckily I only had to go 5 miles.
And all of a sudden,
POOF
no kids,
no wife,
no neighbors,
I got to unload it all by myself and stack it in the backyard
all by myself.
When necessary a Metro will carry a Ford 351W (medium sized V8) and a 727 Torqueflite (big Chrysler) transmission.
It doesn't like that either.
