Turtle Barbara's Learning Curve

I've decided to start a new thread regarding the education of my wife and her ability to improve/learn.
The ScanGauge is hooked up and ready to go.
This is SOOO Cool!
We had to goto the Pharmacy so I offered advice (not always appreciated) while she drove.
Her current driving style keeps her foot on the gas while heading for a stop.
I believe that with feedback from SG she will learn to coast more and maybe start to use Neutral as a forward gear.
What we've learned so far;
N @ stop is .23GPH versus D @ stop is .43GPH. (damn thats high, must be the cold)
Coasting in D gives less MPG than coasting in N and slows you down faster so your glide is shorter
If you go 45mph and shift to N you can see 155MPG
If you mash the go pedal to the floor from a stop you can see 1.1MPG
You should put the MPH gauge up so you don't need to look at speedo and SG
Bear in mind that all of these readings will change a little when the SG is fully calibrated to the car. I need to do some 1/4 tank fills to calibrate fuel parameters.
Everything else is already set to go.
Stay tuned, more to come after a word from our sponsors
S.
