I finally tried to best my previous best mpg in my SRT4 Neon that runs 12.79 at 11 mph in the 1/4 mile. My best was 32.8 and was obtained EASILY by only driving a flat 60 mph on a few 200 mile round trips. This time I aired up the tires to their max air pressure of 42 compared to 35, drove 55-58 mph and removed the following items from the trunk:
Electric drill and a small amount of tools
Air tank and helmet
Two 225x50x15 Hoosier DOT drag radials and their rims

I also have a different tune on the car now that has a lot more torque but less hp.
The 1/4 mile is still a 12.79 best, but mph is down a bit to only 109.
The 1/8th mile is now 8.20 at 90 mph compared to 8.40 at 83 mph and maximum boost is now 25 psi compared to 27 before.

Drum roll..........40.1 mpg!!! It was 40.18 on one trip and 40.12 on another....and the baby seat, box of toys, baby bag, and my 40 lb 3 year old were still in the car. On both trips I was carrying just under 100 lbs of tires one way too!
