Thumbs up Long time GS/Ecomodder lurker

Hey guys, I've been following the whole hypermiling thing for months now. I first came about GS when looking for CRX Hf's and got hooked when I realized people could stick D15z1's in them and get amazing mileage. The mods some of you guys perform are just what I'm looking for. Backyard engineering with a degree of scientific rationale...really, the antithesis of most "gas saving" gimmicks out there.

Anyways, I didn't feel like I had much to contribute in the beginning but I've learned quite a bit. Anything mechanical interests me and I figure my interests are bound to be expensive to fulfill. Luckily, I think I found something great here. What better than to have a hobby that strives to save you money...

I found this site after it split off from GS awhile back and I've decided to focus here because the GS members' opinions who I trusted/valued most made the migration.

I drive a '96 Ford Thunderbird automatic, , that gets ~23mpg normal and ~27mpg using mild hypermiling techniques. Ideally, I'd like to switch to a CRX HF before spring/summer gas prices, but that is pretty unlikely (broke college student). I'd set up my garage here, but I fill my tank 13 gallons at a time because it is the cheapest method. I look forward to learning and contributing with all you like minded people.
