Much of the iron appears to be '60s vintage. Not surprising as the US army was very good in the past at burying obsolete vehicles and than dug them up in the '40s to melt them down and make more vehicles. The burying habit went on well in to the '50s and maybe '60s.
My Dad drove one of these on his first European tour. He said some of the people weren't very friendly
Oh, and to follow the rule about relating to FE, Dad told me they figured gallons per mile
