Why do people insist on posting links to things that don't work? that Helix "wind generator" will work about as well as the car with the fans, of course their reasoning is not the same, but they both spin, so they must have a useful output, right?
I have yet to see a vertical axises wind turbine (VAWT) that works, however I have seen alot of standard horizontal axises wind turbines that work, a few that don't but for the most part they can be put up in a windy area and you can charge a battery or run electrical devices off of them and put a meter on them that tells you how much energy they are putting out, this has not been the case with VAWT's, it's kind of like buying a car based off how fast it will spin the speedometer while up on jack stands, you want it to do work, to go places, not just to spin.
