interior convex mirrors

I played with idea for a while of mounting side mirrors inside my S10 pickup windows, inside the cab. I thought I could get rear vision close to 5 degrees from line of travel. With such a severe angle of vision through the glass, the view is greenish and not completely clear, but I thought it would do.

Then, I realized that the obscuring effect of any raindrops, dirt or frost (I live in Canada, so we get a lot of frost) would be greatly multiplied at this angle, making these side mirrors unreliable. So, I've scratched that idea and intend to just get smaller outer side mirrors.

However, I also like convex blind-spot mirrors and fairly big ones. It has occurred to me that these point more to the side, not so much towards the back as the regular side mirrors, so their line of vision through the window is less severe.

So, I'm playing with the idea now of mounting these on my dash, next to the side windows and seeing how well this works. Keeping them inside the cab makes it more possible to go with smaller outer side mirrors, as I will not have to worry about where and how to mount the supplemental convex add-on mirrors on them.

I suppose these ideas may be already discussed here. I'll search it out later...

Thanks, H
