Greetings!
I am a retired steamfitter, retreaded as a Chiropractor, and a survivor of a high speed headon without seat belts in 1955. My father eked out his retirement by driving a Fiat 500, or a collection of them at a total cost of just under 1cent per mile. This was in 1961 -71, so gas was 28 cents.
Current cars:
blue, 1991 Metro, CA version. Fairly beat out, but runs well after trans replaced with japanese junkyard one. No trouble with smog tests but starts on 1 then 2, finally hitting on all three when restarting warm. Leaky injector??
silver 4 door 1991 Metro, 49 state model which gave fits with smog; I was sold a bad catalytic converter which did not touch the NOx. The diagnosis shop I finally used sniffed before and after the CAT, and had another similar car to compare.
67 Chevy 3/4T, very not running; plan a V8 hybrid stirling, running the left side as infernal combustion and the right as two sections of two piston (alpha) stirling pairs 180 out. Project on back burner looking for a usable stock piston for the early 327 I am building it out of. I wanted a cam that would reverse the intake and exhaust, and at first thought that using a reversing gear would do it. Bought a marine reversing cam drive, degreed out the various lobes. DRAT! It works for two, the other two are moving the wrong way. A flat lifter custom cam was quoted at $800, so I reconciled myself to using stock valve/ port assignments. Built Megasquirt, expect to use MSExtra code to drive 4 coils. It's an odd firing 4; 90, 180, 180, 270. ..
