I cannot comment on what is worth how much to who. Look at other threads under instrumentation. There are options. I am leaning toward paying $50 more for SGII or going mpguino or carchippro.

I am not sure what you mean. Do you check the "Remember" box when you log in? If you don't check this option, your login will be timed-out by design.
I would say that only the SGI/II and MPGuino are well-tested staples of this forum. The SGI/II is plug-and-play but only works for 1996 and up. The MPGuino is cheaper and better and works with pre-1996, but requires more fiddlin'.
