rainx smeared like 10w40 for me, then the wiper went to crap, and then the wiper arm bent. Some kinda pleasant chemistry with the unpleasant chemistry...of course my car and lightning is best friends, and if to drill the wrong bolt out, the bolts catch on fire.
I simply Wash the windshield, superlube the linkage, bend the arms to normal, new wipers, and I only fail if to weld anything aft of the rear end mount for a "short" time (pun haha) and the system ground comes back, and all is well...

22 years and going strong..original everything wiper related in the electric stuff. beware rainx , if it gets a wiff of the middle safety plastic between the glass layers and something else I haven't identified, it will be noticed. I witnessed this first in a tractor trailer, assumed it to be the million miles on it, but no, it happened in every car I have owned afterwards that needed help right away in the rain with the rainx. it is no miracle...can someone relate ?
